AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3597




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3597 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Article 1.

 
5    Section 1-5. The Director of Corrections, on behalf of the 
6State of Illinois, is authorized to execute and deliver to the 
7Village of Hopkins Park, organized and existing under the laws 
8of the State of Illinois, of Kankakee County, State of 
9Illinois, for and in consideration of $1 paid to the 
10Department of Corrections, a quitclaim deed to the following 
11real property:
 
12    Parcel Number 10-19-36-100-024, 16010 E 4500 RD S, 
13    Pembroke Township, IL 60958
14    Parcel Number 10-19-36-100-025, Pembroke Township, IL

5    Section 1-10. The conveyance of real property authorized 
6by Section 1-5 shall be made subject to: (1) existing public 
7utilities, existing public roads, and any and all 
8reservations, easements, encumbrances, covenants, and 
9restrictions of record; and (2) the express condition that if 
10the real property ceases to be used for public purposes, it 
11shall revert to the State of Illinois, Department of 
12Corrections.
 
13    Section 1-15. The Director of Corrections shall obtain a 
14certified copy of this Act within 60 days after its effective 
15date and, upon receipt of the payment required by Section 1-5, 
16shall record the certified document in the Recorder's Office 
17in the County in which the land is located.

Article 2.

 
19    Section 2-5. Subject to the conditions set forth in 
20Section 2-10, the Director of the Department of Corrections, 
21on behalf of the State of Illinois, shall execute and deliver 
22to the Lockport Township Fire Protection District, for and in

1consideration of $1 paid to the Department, a quitclaim deed 
2for the following described real property:
 
3    THAT PART OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 29, TOWNSHIP 
4    36 NORTH,
RANGE 10 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, 
5    DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
 
6    COMMENCING AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SAID SECTION 29; 
7    THENCE SOUTH 87
DEGREES 56 MINUTES 40 SECONDS WEST, ON THE 
8    NORTH LINE OF SAID NORTHEAST
QUARTER, 400.00 FEET TO THE 
9    POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE SOUTH 02 DEGREES

10    SECONDS EAST, PERPENDICULAR TO SAID NORTH LINE, 800.00

18    SAID PARCEL CONTAINING 12.856 ACRES, MORE OR LESS.
 
19    Section 2-10. (a) The quitclaim deed executed under 
20Section 2-5 shall convey all right, title, and interest of the 
21State of Illinois and the Department of Corrections in and to 
22the real property described in Section 2-5 to the Lockport

1Township Fire Protection District.
2    (b) The conveyance of real property authorized by Section 
32-5 shall be made subject to existing public utilities, 
4existing public roads, and any and all reservations, 
5easements, encumbrances, covenants, and restrictions of 
6record.
7    (c) The quitclaim deed to the Lockport Township Fire 
8Protection District shall state on its face and be subject to 
9the conditions that the real property shall be used by the  
10Lockport Township Fire Protection District for a training 
11center and that if the Lockport Township Fire Protection 
12District ceases to exist, if the real property is used for any 
13purposes other than a training center, or if an attempt is made 
14to sell the property, then title shall revert without further 
15action to the State of Illinois.
 
16    Section 2-15. The Director of the Department of 
17Corrections shall prepare one or more quitclaim deeds to 
18convey the real property. The Director may also record a 
19certified copy of this Act. Each quitclaim deed shall 
20reference this Act and contain the reversionary language from 
21subsection (c) of Section 2-10. All documents of conveyance 
22shall be recorded in the county in which the land is located.

1    Section 99-99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
2becoming law.".
