| 1 | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3795

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3795 on page 1, | ||||||
| 3 | line 12, by replacing "This purpose" with "The purpose"; and
| ||||||
| 4 | on page 3, immediately below line 4, by inserting the | ||||||
| 5 | following: | ||||||
| 6 | ""Family member" means a person's spouse, children, | ||||||
| 7 | step-children, parents, step-parents, siblings, | ||||||
| 8 | step-siblings, half-siblings, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, | ||||||
| 9 | grandparents, and grandchildren. "Family member" also includes | ||||||
| 10 | the parents and grandparents of the person's spouse and any | ||||||
| 11 | individual living with the person. | ||||||
| 12 | "Person with whom a board member maintains a close | ||||||
| 13 | economic association" means a person in a partnership, | ||||||
| 14 | association, or professional service corporation with a member | ||||||
| 15 | of the county board that is awarding a contract pursuant to | ||||||
| 16 | this Division, whether as a partner, officer, employee, | ||||||
| 17 | associate, or otherwise. | ||||||

| 1 | "Person with whom a board member maintains a close | ||||||
| 2 | political association" means a person who: (i) has made a | ||||||
| 3 | campaign contribution to any political committee supporting a | ||||||
| 4 | county board member on the county board that is awarding a | ||||||
| 5 | contract pursuant to this Division or any political committee | ||||||
| 6 | of which the county board member is an officer; (ii) is a | ||||||
| 7 | candidate or is an officer of any political committee that has | ||||||
| 8 | received a campaign contribution from a county board member on | ||||||
| 9 | the county board that is awarding a contract pursuant to this | ||||||
| 10 | Division; or (iii) is an officer of any political committee | ||||||
| 11 | supporting a county board member on the county board that is | ||||||
| 12 | awarding a contract pursuant to this Division."; and | ||||||
| 13 | on page 12, line 13, before "Notice" by inserting "A county | ||||||
| 14 | board that awards a contract pursuant to this Division must | ||||||
| 15 | approve the contract by resolution that lists the identity of | ||||||
| 16 | any officer or director of the design-build entity who: (i) is | ||||||
| 17 | a family member of one of the county board members; (ii) is a | ||||||
| 18 | person with whom a board member maintains a close economic | ||||||
| 19 | relationship; or (iii) is a person with whom a board member | ||||||
| 20 | maintains a close political relationship.".
