Amends the Department of Employment Security Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department of Employment Security to identify and report to the General Assembly, no later than December 31, 2021, the amount of funds it lost due to fraud during the period beginning on March 9, 2020, the date the Governor first issued a disaster declaration proclamation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, through the effective date of the amendatory Act. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Department of Employment Security Law of |
5 | | the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding |
6 | | Section 1005-167 as follows: |

8 | | Sec. 1005-167. COVID-19 funds loss report. No later than |
9 | | December 31, 2021, the Department shall identify and report to |
10 | | the General Assembly the amount of funds it lost due to fraud |
11 | | during the period beginning on March 9, 2020, the date the |
12 | | Governor first issued a disaster declaration proclamation in |
13 | | response to the COVID-19 pandemic, through the effective date |
14 | | of this amendatory Act of the 102nd General Assembly.

15 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
16 | | becoming law.
