| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The University Credit and Retail Sales Act is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 2 as follows:
|

| 7 | | Sec. 2. Enforcement; violations. Whenever the

for the use of |
| 11 | | the institution is using, has used, or is about to use
any |
| 12 | | method, act or practice in violation of this Act and that |
| 13 | | proceedings
would be in the public interest, he may bring an |
| 14 | | action in the name of the
State against any person or retail |
| 15 | | store operated by a State institution of
higher learning or |
| 16 | | operated on property held or leased for the use of the
|
| 17 | | institution to restrain and prevent any violation of this Act. |
| 18 | | In the
enforcement of this Act, the Attorney General may |
| 19 | | accept an assurance of
discontinuance of any act or practice |
| 20 | | deemed in violation of this Act from
any person or retail store |
| 21 | | operated by a State institution of higher
learning or operated |
| 22 | | on property held or leased for the use of the
institution |
| 23 | | engaging in, or that has engaged in, that act or practice.
