SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois General

3Assembly pays honor and respect to the truly great individuals

4who have served our country and, in so doing, have gone above

5and beyond the call of duty in truly heroic acts; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Robert Holloway was born in Keithsburg on 
7December 29, 1942 and served
in the U.S. Navy, achieving the 
8rank of Petty Officer Second Class; he died while serving his 
9country in South Vietnam on February 20, 1966; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Ronald Crose was born in Keithsburg on December 
1110, 1945 and served in
the U.S. Navy, achieving the rank of 
12Petty Officer Third Class; he was killed in action while 
13serving his country in South Vietnam on November 24, 1967; 
14therefore, be it
  
 


  
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF 
17REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate 76th 
18Street in Keithsburg from Jackson Street to IL-17 as the "PO2 
19Robert Holloway and PO3 Ronald Crose Memorial Highway"; and be 
20it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation

1is requested to erect at suitable locations, consistent with

2State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs

3giving notice of the name "PO2 Robert Holloway
and PO3 Ronald 
4Crose Memorial Highway"; and

5    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
6presented to the families  of PO2 Holloway and PO3 Crose and the 
7Mayor of Keithsburg.
