SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Jeffrey "Jeff" Connell of East Moline, 
4who passed away on January 14, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeff Connell was born to Eugene E. and Mary Jo 
6(Stickel) Connell in Moline on February 16, 1954; he was a 
7United States Air Force veteran; he married Kathleen E. Laney 
8in DeLand, Florida on June 11, 1996; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Jeff Connell enjoyed traveling and was an avid 
10golfer; he was a Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Illini fan; later in 
11life, he became a guitar player; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Jeff Connell was preceded in death by his 
13parents; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Jeff Connell is survived by his wife, Kathleen; 
15his children, Vincent Connell and  Melinda Powell; his 
16stepdaughter, Jennifer Parent; his seven grandchildren; his 
17two great-grandchildren; his  siblings, Robert (Theresa) 
18Connell, Roxanne (Gary) Dierolf, Allan (Karen) Connell, 
19Candace "Candy" (Steve) Collis,  and Donald Connell; and his 
20uncle, James Stickel; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

3Jeffrey "Jeff" Connell and extend our sincere
condolences to 
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it

6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

7presented to the family of Jeff Connell as an expression of
our 
8deepest sympathy.
