| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Frank J. Mavetz of Wee Ma Tuk, who |
| 4 | | passed away on August 14, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Frank Mavetz was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to |
| 6 | | Frank J. and Ursula (Pahula) Mavetz on December 14, 1945; he |
| 7 | | graduated from high school in Milwaukee in 1964, where he |
| 8 | | excelled in baseball, basketball, and football; he attended |
| 9 | | Bradley University on a basketball scholarship from 1964 until |
| 10 | | 1968, where he also played baseball; he was a proud member of |
| 11 | | the 1968 Bradley Braves Missouri Valley Championship Baseball |
| 12 | | Team; he married Catherine M. Margritz on October 3, 1970, and |
| 13 | | she preceded him in death on July 26, 2008; he married Janet |
| 14 | | Bergantz at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Glasford on |
| 15 | | September 24, 2011; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Frank Mavetz was an educator at Elmwood High |
| 17 | | School for 34 years, retiring in 2002; he coached basketball, |
| 18 | | baseball, and football; he also served as athletic director |
| 19 | | for 10 years; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Frank Mavetz was a member of St. Mary's Catholic |
| 21 | | Church in Canton and then joined St. Peters Lutheran Church in |
| 22 | | Glasford; he enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, hunting, and |
