| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Lyle E. Decker of Rock Island, who |
| 4 | | passed away on December 11, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lyle Decker was born to Charlie and Minnie (Hall) |
| 6 | | Decker in Burgess on March 9, 1932; he graduated from Aledo |
| 7 | | High School and then served in the U.S. Air Force during the |
| 8 | | Korean War; he was formerly married to Joyce Bewley; he later |
| 9 | | married Maxine Beasley Taylor in August of 1982; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Lyle Decker worked at Bear Manufacturing for 26 |
| 11 | | years until their closing; he later worked at Material |
| 12 | | Products and Tri-City Manufacturing for many years; he owned |
| 13 | | Decker's Welding and did upholstery work from his shop at |
| 14 | | home; he was a deputy sheriff with the Mercer County Sheriff |
| 15 | | Department and later for the Aledo Police Department; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Lyle Decker was a member of the Illinois Police |
| 17 | | Association; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Lyle Decker loved camping, fishing, playing pool |
| 19 | | at Maggie's Place in Reynolds, going to casinos with his |
| 20 | | daughters, and wintering in Arizona; and
|
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Lyle Decker was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 2 | | his wife, Maxine; his grandson, Brandon Gehn; his brothers, |
| 3 | | Bert, Arvid, Lee, Charles, and Cletus Decker; and his sister, |
| 4 | | Lila Bloomfield; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lyle Decker is survived by his daughters, |
| 6 | | Christine Palmer, Kathy (Kurt) Gehn, and Cindy Miller; his |
| 7 | | stepchildren, Albert "Butch" (Karen) Taylor and Sandy Conklin; |
| 8 | | his grandchildren, Deena Bradford, Tara Carr, Justin (Amy) |
| 9 | | Fowler, Honesty (Dewey) Trobaugh, Christopher (Trish) Reed, |
| 10 | | Kyle Tharp, Matthew (Micheala) Gehn, Sean Flynn, and Casey |
| 11 | | Flynn; his fourteen great-grandchildren; his two |
| 12 | | great-great-grandsons; and his numerous nieces, nephews, and |
| 13 | | additional family; therefore, be it
|
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
| 15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 16 | | Lyle E. Decker and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 17 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 18 | | further

| 19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
|
| 20 | | presented to the family of Lyle Decker as an expression of
our |
| 21 | | deepest sympathy.
