SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Charles H. "Chuck" Daniels of Hampton, 
4who passed away on January 21, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Chuck Daniels was born in Davenport, Iowa to 
6Charles I and Norma (Meinert) Daniels on October 21, 1935; he 
7served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era; he married 
8Theresa Smolenski on July 2, 1966, and she preceded him in 
9death on January 5, 1977; he married Joan (Raymond) Larson in 
10Rock Island on October 7, 1978; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Chuck Daniels worked for John Deere Foundry for 
1232 years; he retired as a supervisor in 1986; after 
13retirement, he worked at the former Ron's Town Liquor in East 
14Moline; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Chuck Daniels was a member of the East End 
16Boulder's Club and the Moline Elks; he enjoyed seeing drag 
17races, going on weekend camping trips to Camp Hauberg, and 
18having bi-weekly breakfasts with his buddies; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Chuck Daniels was preceded in death by his first 
20wife; his parents; and his siblings, Delores Henderson, 
21Marilyn Bloomquist, James Daniels, Carl Daniels, and John

1"Jack" Daniels; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Chuck Daniels is survived by his wife of 42 
3years, Joan; his children, Steve Larson, Pam Karlix, Lisa 
4(Mike) Popelier, and Pat Daniels; his grandchildren, Erik, 
5Michael and Kim Karlix and Tyler, Bryson Popelier, and Rylee 
6Daniels; his great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Cole; his 
7siblings, Leoria Denato, Dorthea Jamieson, Charlotte (Arnold) 
8Frank, Betty (Gary) Welch, Shirley Bonnett, and Linda Bacus; 
9and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
12Charles H. "Chuck" Daniels and extend our sincere condolences 
13to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be 
14it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to the family of Chuck Daniels as an expression of 
17our deepest sympathy.
