SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William Allen Lynn of Moline, formerly of New Windsor, who passed away on January 25, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Allen Lynn was born in Norwood to William Joseph and Florence (Brownlee) Lynn on June 20, 1930; he married Bessie L. Anderson at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion on June 24, 1954; he served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Allen Lynn was a former member of the New Windsor American Legion; he was later a member of the Orion American Legion; he attended Swedona Lutheran Church; he enjoyed woodworking and attending his grandchildren's sports and activities; and

WHEREAS, Allen Lynn was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Jane Bredberg, Mary Hansen, Colleen Hughes, and Peggy Thurman; and

WHEREAS, Allen Lynn is survived by his wife; his children, Kevin (Carol) Lynn, Gina (Steve) Geering, and Lisa (Denis) Wehr; his grandchildren, Heather, Lucas, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Grace, and Carolyn; his step-grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, and Alisha; his eight great-grandchildren; his eight step-great-grandchildren; his brother, John (Twila) Lynn; his brother-in-law, Earl Hansen; his sisters-in-law, Sheila (Jerry) Bryan and Dolly Anderson; and his numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William Allen Lynn and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Allen Lynn as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
