SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Ronnie Haddad of River Forest, who 
4passed away in July 2019, at the age of 78; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronnie Haddad was a lifelong Chicagoan; he served 
6in the U.S. Army; he was a father of five children; he was 
7known as "The Ram"; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Ronnie Haddad was a creative entrepreneur and 
9founder of Triple R Publications, Midwest News, Pizza City, 
10and Haddad's Old Fashions; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Ronnie Haddad was a family advocate to St. Jude's 
12Memorial Hospital; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Ronnie Haddad was the owner of the racehorses 
14Strike of Dawn, Hierarchy, and Magazine Man; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Ronnie Haddad was a talented musician who loved 
16to play the guitar and sing; he was a band member of The 
17Bel-airs, the Crystal Ship, and the Time Travelers Trio; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Ronnie Haddad was known for his belief that a 
19good life and good food went hand in hand; from clams casino to

1his mother's Lebanese Rosen lubi, he ate and lived well; he was 
2also a devoted Rams fan, whether the team was based in St. 
3Louis or Los Angeles; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Ronnie Haddad was said to be the funniest dad in 
5all of River Forest; he played a central role in his children's 
6lives and coached all five of his kids in baseball and 
7softball; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Ronnie Haddad was a self-described optimist; he 
9approached life with  a sense of levity and an endless supply of 
10laughter and light; he will be remembered for possessing a 
11heart of gold; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Ronnie Haddad was the loving dog owner of Sheik, 
13Domino, Buffy, Pugsly, Cody, Amir, Lady, and Ajeebi; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Ronnie Haddad was the son of Nimer Haddad and Ada 
15Maloof; the brother of Rosemary and Robert; the husband of 
16Priscilla Earsom; the father of Ron, Michael, Autumn, Vincent, 
17and Vanessa; and the partner of June Fontana; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
20Ronnie Haddad and extend our sincere condolences to his 
21family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
