2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Elizabeth Francis "Betty" Pickerill |
4 | | of Worden, who passed away on March 2, 2021; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Betty Pickerill was born in Worden to Allen A. |
6 | | Schneider and Gertrude (Straub) Schneider on December 28, |
7 | | 1946; she graduated from Worden High School; she married Dale |
8 | | Pickerill on December 31, 1980; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Betty Pickerill worked as the manager of the |
10 | | Payroll Department and Finance Department for Webster |
11 | | University; she loved her job and her fellow employees; she |
12 | | took early retirement to be with her late husband, who was |
13 | | suffering from cancer; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Betty Pickerill was a former member of St. |
15 | | Barbara's Church in Batchtown and a current member of the |
16 | | Worden Christian Church; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Betty Pickerill enjoyed spending time with her |
18 | | family and traveling; she helped her husband work on the |
19 | | family history of the Pickerill and Schneider families; beside |
20 | | her husband, she enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee in the late |
21 | | afternoon and talking about anything and everything, |

1 | | especially their children and grandchildren; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Betty Pickerill was preceded in death by her |
3 | | parents; her husband and best friend, Dale Henry Pickerill; |
4 | | and her brothers; Allen Schneider and John Schneider; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Betty Pickerill is survived by her daughter, |
6 | | Kerra Leigh Deaton; her son, Preston Richard (Amy Elizabeth) |
7 | | Hall; her stepchildren, Robert Scott (Stephanie) Pickerill, |
8 | | Patrick Wade Pickerill (Bruno Figueroa), Leslie Ann Pomatto, |
9 | | and Kerri Jean Niehaus; her grandchildren, Zackory Alexander |
10 | | Deaton, Alaina Elizabeth Hall, Savannah Dale Hall, Braden Dale |
11 | | Niehaus, Bryce Arthur Niehaus, Ashley Nichole Pomatto, Amanda |
12 | | Jo Pomatto, Audrey Alexandra Pickerill, and Lauren Elizabeth |
13 | | Bailey; and her sisters, Rosemarie (William) Pickerill, Violet |
14 | | Lyerla, Shirley (Robert) Prosser, and Gloria (John) Paolino; |
15 | | therefore, be it

16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
18 | | Elizabeth Francis "Betty" Pickerill and extend our sincere |
19 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
20 | | her; and be it further
