2 | WHEREAS, Wilbert "Webb" Eastham is retiring from the | ||||||
3 | Waltonville Community Unit School District #1 Board of | ||||||
4 | Education after serving for 19 years; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Webb Eastham was born in Washington, Pennsylvania | ||||||
6 | to Donna and William Eastham; he graduated from Waltonville | ||||||
7 | High School in 1981, where he was an active member of FFA and a | ||||||
8 | member of the basketball and baseball teams; he attended Rend | ||||||
9 | Lake College, where he played baseball; he married Lori | ||||||
10 | (Morss) Eastham, a Waltonville High School graduate, in | ||||||
11 | December 1985; they have one daughter, Sophie, a Waltonville | ||||||
12 | High School graduate and current student attending the St. | ||||||
13 | Louis College of Pharmacy; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Webb Eastham has held a number of positions while | ||||||
15 | working for Truck Centers, LLC for 35 years; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Webb Eastham has served on many school board | ||||||
17 | committees over the years, including the Policy Committee and | ||||||
18 | the Franklin Jefferson Special Education Committee; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Webb Eastham played an instrumental role in the | ||||||
20 | construction of the Waltonville Community Unit School District | ||||||
21 | #1's outdoor concession facility and pavilion; he donated |
| |||||||
| |||||||
1 | hundreds of hours to build the interior of the structure, | ||||||
2 | which saved the district thousands of dollars; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Alongside another community member, Webb Eastham | ||||||
4 | established the Spartan Golf Scramble in an effort to raise | ||||||
5 | funds for the purpose of issuing scholarships to Waltonville | ||||||
6 | student athletes; he has spearheaded this successful event for | ||||||
7 | 25 years, which has provided thousands of dollars in | ||||||
8 | scholarships to Waltonville FFA student athletes in pursuit of | ||||||
9 | higher education; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Webb Eastham has always been a strong supporter | ||||||
11 | of Waltonville Spartan athletics; he has served as the coach | ||||||
12 | for several teams, including the boys grade school basketball | ||||||
13 | team, the boys high school golf team, and the boys and girls | ||||||
14 | cross country teams; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Webb Eastham's commitment to Waltonville | ||||||
16 | Community Unit School District #1 and his decades of hard work | ||||||
17 | and dedication to the future generations of Illinois are | ||||||
18 | admirable; he exemplifies what it means to be a Spartan; | ||||||
19 | therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
21 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we declare April 22, | ||||||
22 | 2021 as Webb Eastham Day in the State of Illinois; and be it |

2 | RESOLVED, That we acknowledge Wilbert "Webb" Eastham's | ||||||
3 | accomplishments and his years of service, and we wish him all | ||||||
4 | the best in retirement; and be it further

6 | presented to Webb Eastham as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
7 | respect.
