| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Charles Wesley "Charlie" Armstrong of |
| 4 | | Moline, who passed away on April 10, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Armstrong was born in Joy to Herbert and |
| 6 | | Helen (Schaub) Armstrong on December 2, 1938; he was stationed |
| 7 | | with the U.S. Air Force in Minot, North Dakota and married Lucy |
| 8 | | Froehlich in Dickinson, North Dakota on January 19, 1960; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Armstrong retired from ALCOA in 2001 |
| 10 | | after 40 years of working as a pipe fitter and mill mechanic; |
| 11 | | and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Armstrong was an avid reader and enjoyed |
| 13 | | woodworking and fishing; he was a black belt in karate and put |
| 14 | | his initials on everything he owned; he loved cologne, keeping |
| 15 | | his lawn groomed and cars polished, and performing magic |
| 16 | | tricks for his family and friends; he was a member of the |
| 17 | | Moline Viking Club and the Rock Island York Rite Masonic |
| 18 | | Lodge; his family was his pride and joy, and he especially |
| 19 | | enjoyed being the grandfather and great-grandfather of many |
| 20 | | beautiful children; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Armstrong was the dear husband of 61 |
