SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Lester Melvin Hillier of Coal Valley, 
4who passed away on April 10, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lester Hillier was born in Rock Island on March 
618, 1933; he graduated from United Township High School in 
71951 and then served in the U.S. Navy; he married Linda 
8Lockwood in Rock Island on May 20, 1997; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Lester Hillier owned and operated the Arthur 
10Murray Dance Studio in downtown Davenport, Iowa for 54 years, 
11retiring in 2013; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Lester Hillier enjoyed dancing and teaching, 
13taking pictures, and being a pilot; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Lester Hillier was preceded in death by his 
15parents; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Lester Hillier is survived by his wife; his 
17children, Steele (Corina), Lamont, Tara, Nichole (Gary), and 
18Joe (Tiffany); his grandchildren, Jay, Jared, Tate (Emmalee), 
19Emma, Chiara, Ashlin, and Cale; and his many beloved friends;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Lester Melvin Hillier and extend our sincere condolences to 
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Lester Hillier as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
