| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Hector Poelvoorde Jr. of East Moline, |
| 4 | | who passed away on April 4, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Hector Poelvoorde was born to Hector Sr. and |
| 6 | | Bernice (Granet) Poelvoorde in Moline on October 4, 1931; he |
| 7 | | served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict; he married |
| 8 | | Joan Malmstrom at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moline on May |
| 9 | | 14, 1955; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Hector Poelvoorde worked at Johnson's Sheet Metal |
| 11 | | and Schebler Company as a journeyman; he spent his retirement |
| 12 | | years working at the Taxslayer Center and as a school crossing |
| 13 | | guard for the East Moline school district #37; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Hector Poelvoorde served as a Eucharistic |
| 15 | | minister for his church; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Hector Poelvoorde enjoyed life when he was |
| 17 | | surrounded by people and loved sitting outdoors in the warm |
| 18 | | sun; he spent time in his vegetable garden in the summer and |
| 19 | | spent countless hours with his family on camping trips; he was |
| 20 | | a Chicago Cubs fan and had a passion for crossword puzzles and |
| 21 | | sweets; and |
