SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Edward Joseph Kaizer of Libertyville, who passed away on April 9, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Kaizer was born to Peter and Mary (Raymond) Kaizer in Cramer, Pennsylvania on March 18, 1937; he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Duquesne University and his doctorate in piano performance from Indiana University; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Kaizer, Professor Emeritus of Music, was head of the piano department at Bradley University from 1970 to 2016; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Kaizer was a guest soloist with the Chicago Symphony in 1972; he performed countless solo and duo recitals across the United States, Mexico, and Europe with his wife, Janet; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Kaizer was awarded the Rothenberg Award for Professional Excellence; and

WHEREAS, In addition to music, Dr. Edward Kaizer was passionate about fishing and golfing; he loved his family, loved his music, and loved his life; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Kaizer was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Janet L. (Cook) Kaizer; his sisters, Jean (Kaizer) Piorkowski and Joanne Kaizer; and his son, John Kaizer; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Kaizer is survived by his children, Edward (Lynn) Kaizer, Claire (Doug) Kasamis, Laraine (Sasha) Kaizer-Viazovtsev, and Joseph Kaizer, and his six grandchildren, Alex Kaizer, Drew (Caitlyn) Kaizer, Nick Kaizer, Jackson Kasamis, Lexi Kasamis, and Ella Kasamis; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dr. Edward Joseph Kaizer and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dr. Edward Kaizer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
