| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death Svitlana Sierova, who passed away on |
| 4 | | November 14, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Svitlana Sierova was born to Anna and Anatoliy |
| 6 | | Tsitsiy on July 12, 1963; she grew up in a small town outside |
| 7 | | of Odessa, Ukraine, and her young life was full of challenges |
| 8 | | and responsibilities; she learned piano from a young age and |
| 9 | | graduated from music school at age 15; she attended university |
| 10 | | at Bilhorod-Dnistrovs'kyi, Ukraine where she earned her |
| 11 | | bachelor's degree in Agronomy; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Upon graduating college, Svitlana Sierova moved |
| 13 | | to Odessa and started working at a sugar factory, while |
| 14 | | pursuing her hobby of knitting after work hours, which |
| 15 | | eventually led to a passion for sewing; she had a daughter, |
| 16 | | Yuliya, and began working long hours as a real estate agent to |
| 17 | | support the family; she and her daughter eventually moved to |
| 18 | | the United States in search of a better life; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Once in America, Svitlana Sierova started taking |
| 20 | | English lessons at Lewis and Clark Community College in |
| 21 | | Edwardsville; she also focused on learning proper sewing |
| 22 | | techniques and began working as a tailer at Men's Warehouse; |
