SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Philip James "Phil" Murphy of Park 
4Ridge, Illinois and Washington Island, Wisconsin, who passed 
5away on February 23, 2021; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Phil Murphy was born in Chicago on July 14, 1936; 
7he served in the U.S. Navy Reserve; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Phil Murphy was a lifelong member of IBEW 134; 
9and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Phil Murphy was preceded in death by his parents, 
11James and Marion (Serrar) Murphy; his sister, Patricia Wild; 
12and his brother-in-law, William Wild; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Phil Murphy was the husband for 62 years of 
14Norine (McSweeney); the father of Colleen (David) Miller, the 
15Honorable Laura Murphy (Michael Jekot), James (Patricia) 
16Murphy, MaryEllen McLenighan, and Daniel (Eileen) Murphy; the 
17grandfather of nine; the great-grandfather of six; and the 
18uncle of numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1Philip James "Phil" Murphy and extend our sincere condolences 
2to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be 
3it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to the family of Phil Murphy as an expression of our 
6deepest sympathy.
