SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Corinne G. Wood, who passed away on 
4May 18, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Corinne Wood was born on May 28, 1954; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Corinne Wood was an attorney and a former member 
7of the Illinois General Assembly; she served as the first 
8female lieutenant governor of the State of Illinois; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Corinne Wood remained active in many political, 
10civic, and social endeavors well after leaving office; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Corinne Wood was a loving mother and wife; she 
12will be missed; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Corinne Wood is survived by her husband, Paul, 
14and her children, Ashley, Brandon, and Courtney; therefore, be 
15it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
18Corinne G. Wood and extend our sincere condolences to her 
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
