| 2 | | WHEREAS, Michael Kaufman first joined the faculty at |
| 3 | | Loyola University in Chicago in 1986; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Michael Kaufman served as the Loyola School of |
| 5 | | Law's associate dean for academic affairs from 2005 until July |
| 6 | | 2016, when he assumed the role of interim dean; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Michael Kaufman was named dean of the law school |
| 8 | | in March 2017; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Under Michael Kaufman's leadership, the Loyola |
| 10 | | School of Law has become a national leader in diversity, |
| 11 | | equity, and inclusion; it has expanded access to educational |
| 12 | | opportunities for students due to his efforts and those of the |
| 13 | | faculty to develop relationship-based curricula that |
| 14 | | emphasized core classes on professional identity formation, |
| 15 | | implicit bias prevention, and perspectives on law and justice; |
| 16 | | and

| 17 | | WHEREAS, Michael Kaufman further expanded opportunity for |
| 18 | | more non-traditional students to study law through his |
| 19 | | successful development of the Weekend JD program; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Under Michael Kaufman's leadership, bar exam |
