SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Matthew R. "Matt" Moon Sr. of Rock 
4Island, who passed away on June 3, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Matt Moon was born in Moline to Ernest L. and 
6Ethel J. (Winters) Moon on December 4, 1931; he served in the 
7U.S. Army; he married Frances L. Watson in Moline on April 26, 
81952; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Matt Moon worked as a stationary fireman for John 
10Deere Harvester before retiring in 1987; he later worked in 
11maintenance for Black Hawk College; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Matt Moon was preceded in death by his parents 
13and his brother, Ernest Moon; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Matt Moon is survived by his wife; his children, 
15Matthew (Carol) Moon Jr., Ernest L. (Ilse) Moon, William P. 
16(Tina) Moon, Georgia L. Lauritzson, Hubert Ray Moon, Darlene 
17J. Moon, Andrew S. Moon, Jeffrey I. (Julie) Moon, and Steven A. 
18(Nancy) Moon; his 33 grandchildren; his 57 
19great-grandchildren; and his five great-great-grandchildren;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Matthew R. "Matt" Moon Sr. and extend our sincere condolences 
4to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be 
5it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Matt Moon as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
