| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Benedict "Ben" Dwyer of Peoria, who |
| 4 | | passed away on May 26, 2021; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ben Dwyer was born in Peoria to Warren Dwyer and |
| 6 | | Rose (Pomponio) Dwyer on February 1, 1953; he attended Peoria |
| 7 | | High School, the University of Illinois, and Bradley |
| 8 | | University; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ben Dwyer was a cameraman journalist at WMBD-TV |
| 10 | | for almost 40 years; as a journalist, he particularly liked |
| 11 | | covering organic farming, wildlife, nature, and art; he was |
| 12 | | known for producing video essays on the seasons in Central |
| 13 | | Illinois that were evocative and heartfelt; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Ben Dwyer was known for his creativity, |
| 15 | | unsurpassed humor, and singular style, which were commemorated |
| 16 | | by countless tapes, CDs, letters, and homemade cards he sent |
| 17 | | to friends throughout the years; he was passionate about |
| 18 | | photography, music, and drawing from an early age and deeply |
| 19 | | appreciated music of all genres; he was a lifelong vegetarian, |
| 20 | | an exceptional gardener of both vegetables and perennials, and |
| 21 | | an accomplished cook and bread baker; he enjoyed giving gifts, |
| 22 | | especially from his extraordinary garden; he loved cats; he |
