SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Danny "Dan" Lee Jackson of Moline, who 
4passed away on June 3, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Dan Jackson was born to Robert and Shirley 
6(DeVrieze) Jackson in Rock Island on October 20, 1947; he 
7served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he married 
8Elinor M. Briggs; he later married Cheryl (Hessler) Hamilton 
9in Orion on August 8, 2008; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Dan Jackson was an accomplished engineer with 
11Deere & Company; he retired in 2000 after more than 30 years of 
12service; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Dan Jackson was a man of faith who enjoyed 
14fishing and golfing; he was a talented handyman who enjoyed 
15fixing things around the house; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Dan Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; 
17his first wife, Elinor; his siblings, Robert, Karol, and Gary 
18Jackson; and his twin grandsons, Danny III and Zachary; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Dan Jackson is survived by his beloved wife, 
20Cheryl; his son, Danny L. (Stacey) Jackson Jr.; his two

1stepchildren, Christopher (LeeAnn) Hamilton and Megan (fiancé 
2Adam Cortez) Hamilton; his grandchildren, Ashley, Tommy, Danny 
3IV, Joey, Stacey, and Danielle Jackson and Gavin and Madeline 
4Hamilton; his three great-grandchildren; his several nieces 
5and nephews; and his cousins; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
8Danny "Dan" Lee Jackson and extend our sincere condolences to 
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Dan Jackson as an expression of our 
13deepest sympathy.
