SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Brent J. Cobb of Rock Island, who 
4passed away on June 14, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Brent Cobb was born in Moline to Ivan Oscar and 
6Rose (Giese) Cobb on November 26, 1947; he graduated from 
7Moline High School in 1965, where he played football and 
8basketball; he graduated from Black Hawk College; he served in 
9the U.S. Army in Vietnam; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Brent Cobb served as a police officer with the 
11Rock Island Arsenal for 30 years, retiring in 2006; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Brent Cobb was a member of Vietnam Veterans of 
13America 669, the Fraternal Order of Police, and The Sanctuary 
14Quad Cities; he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the 
15Chicago Cubs and Bears and collecting coins; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Brent Cobb was preceded in death by his parents; 
17and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Brent Cobb is survived by his sisters, Debbie 
19Bernal and Carol Martin; his nieces, Brenda Bernal and Cassie 
20(Christopher) Torres; his nephew, Ronald Martin; his

1great-nieces, Aletha and Olivia; and numerous friends, 
2including Bob Foster; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Brent J. Cobb and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Brent Cobb as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
