| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Kermit T. "Bud" Stevenson Jr. of |
| 4 | | Moline, who passed away on June 12, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bud Stevenson was born to Kermit "Jiggs" and |
| 6 | | Sylvia (Spence) Stevenson Sr. in Rock Island on January 9, |
| 7 | | 1943; his mother passed away shortly after childbirth, and he |
| 8 | | was raised by his father and stepmother Ada; he served in the |
| 9 | | U.S. Army; he married Linda Briseno at Gloria Day Church in |
| 10 | | Rock Island on September 25, 1971; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bud Stevenson worked for International Harvester |
| 12 | | Farmall in Rock Island for 23 years; after the closing of |
| 13 | | Farmall, he and his wife owned and operated Stevenson Cleaning |
| 14 | | and Painting; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Bud Stevenson was a Boy Scout Leader; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bud Stevenson enjoyed working in his yard and |
| 17 | | received two awards from the city of Rock Island for lawn |
| 18 | | beautification; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Bud Stevenson enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, |
| 20 | | and hiking; he and his family loved traveling to the Wisconsin |
