2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Lloyd D. Strohm of Moline, who passed |
4 | | away on April 10, 2021; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Lloyd Strohm was born in Clinton, Iowa to Frank |
6 | | and Agnes (Nelson) Strohm on February 1, 1928; he served in the |
7 | | U.S. Navy during World War II as a Communication Specialist |
8 | | 3rd Class, stationed in Alaska and Puerto Rico; he married |
9 | | Dorothy "Dottie" Roeh in Bettendorf, Iowa on June 28, 1952; |
10 | | and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Lloyd Strohm started his career at Frank |
12 | | Foundries as a CPA; he eventually became President and then |
13 | | CEO; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Lloyd Strohm and his wife loved traveling with |
15 | | family and friends and cherished their retirement years in |
16 | | Port Aransas, Texas; one of his greatest joys was being a |
17 | | volunteer at the Texas State Aquarium; he enjoyed singing, |
18 | | baking bread, and fishing; he was a member of the Lions Club, |
19 | | the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and |
20 | | the Bettendorf Presbyterian Church, where he served as an |
21 | | Elder and helped with Stewardship and Sessions; he and his |
22 | | wife attended the First Presbyterian Church in East Moline |

1 | | when returning to the Quad Cities; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Lloyd Strohm was preceded in death by his wife, |
3 | | Dottie; his parents; and his siblings, Frank, Albert, Paul, |
4 | | Barney, Alice, Marion, Donny, and Eugene; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Lloyd Strohm is survived by his children, Tara |
6 | | Lynn Strohm, John David (Mary Pat Link) Strohm, and Nina S. |
7 | | (Dr. John) Golden; his foster children, Steve (Cheryl) Manning |
8 | | and Steven "Jay" Johnson; his grandchildren, Kristin Strohm |
9 | | (Josh Penry), Matt (Cara) Strohm, Kelly (Reid) Galbraith, |
10 | | Claire Strohm, Dr. Ryan Golden (Dr. Alexandra), Dr. Ben Golden |
11 | | (Jamie Grivas), Ian Golden, and Zachary (Amy) Strohm; his |
12 | | great-grandchildren, Chase, Emme, Sophie, and Caroline Penry, |
13 | | Lincoln Strohm, Grace and Leighton Galbraith, Henry and Jack |
14 | | Strohm, and Eleanor Rose Golden; his sister, Shirley Mullins; |
15 | | his brother-in-law, Ed Smith; and his special caregiver, |
16 | | Yukari Carillo; therefore, be it

17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
18 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
19 | | Lloyd D. Strohm and extend our sincere condolences to his |
20 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
