SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Richard A. DeSmet of East Moline, who 
4passed away on June 30, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard DeSmet was born to Rene and Margaret 
6DeSmet in Rock Island on January 11, 1931; he married Marietta 
7Eeckhout in East Moline on January 14, 1950; he served in the 
8U.S. Army; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Richard DeSmet retired from John Deere Harvester 
10Works; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard DeSmet was preceded in death by his wife; 
12his daughter, Deborah DeSmet; his grandchildren, Crystal 
13DeSmet and Johnny Kaskadden; and his sister, Irene; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS,  Richard DeSmet is survived by his children, 
15Dennis (Margaret) DeSmet, Ric (Mindee) DeSmet, and Jeff 
16DeSmet;  five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; 
17therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
20Richard A. DeSmet and extend our sincere condolences to his

1family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
2further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the family of Richard DeSmet as an expression of
