| 7 | | WHEREAS, In the 1970s, Nanci Steele began working in the |
| 8 | | retail wine industry at Sola's Wine & Spirits, named Chicago's |
| 9 | | Best Wine Store by the Chicago Tribune wine columnist Craig |
| 10 | | Goldwyn; she was the first woman in Chicago to be a wholesale |
| 11 | | wine industry sales representative and worked for Judge & |
| 12 | | Dolph; for a short period, she wrote the wine column for the |
| 13 | | Chicago Sun-Times after the passing of their regular columnist |
| 14 | | Arnold Landsman; and

| 15 | | WHEREAS, Nanci Steele was the first woman to win and a |
| 16 | | two-time winner of Geja's Annual International Professional |
| 17 | | Wine Tasting Contest from 1980 to 1981 before she retired from |
| 18 | | the event; she was a founding member of Chicago's Dames |
| 19 | | d'Escoffier, an organization of professional wine industry |
| 20 | | women dedicated to furthering wine and food appreciation; and

| 21 | | WHEREAS, Nanci Steele obtained her master's degree in |
