| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Barbara Ann Weitekamp of The Villages, |
| 4 | | Florida, who passed away on July 17, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Weitekamp was born in Decatur to Roy and |
| 6 | | Marguerite Limes on April 26, 1932; she married Howard |
| 7 | | Weitekamp on September 30, 1950; she moved to The Villages in |
| 8 | | Florida in 2009; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Weitekamp owned and operated three |
| 10 | | women's boutiques; she was well known for her musical fashion |
| 11 | | shows at Springfield College, The Heart Association, and The |
| 12 | | Cancer Society; she later became the director of the Illinois |
| 13 | | Federation of Right to Life and served on George W. Bush's |
| 14 | | Advisory Team; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Weitekamp was committed to her faith and |
| 16 | | known for finding kind words to say to all; she enjoyed |
| 17 | | reading, history, puzzles, and politics; she liked playing |
| 18 | | Mahjong and Kings in the Corner with her neighbors; she loved |
| 19 | | traveling on cruises, especially with her family; she gave |
| 20 | | generously to those who were in need and was a charitable donor |
| 21 | | to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, Covenant House, Wounded |
| 22 | | Warriors, and Disabled Veterans of America; and
