SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rudolph "Rudy" Valentino Kauzlarich of Colona, who passed away on August 8, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Rudy Kauzlarich was born to Tony and Ramona (Buyon) Kauzlarich in Chariton, Iowa on September 21, 1927; he married Gertrude VanKlaveren in Nashua, Iowa on October 20, 1973; he served in the U.S. Army during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Rudy Kauzlarich was a lineman for many years who worked for many high line companies; he also worked for Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric and Mid-American Energy; and

WHEREAS, Rudy Kauzlarich was a member of the American Legion in Milan, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 55, and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 109; and

WHEREAS, Rudy Kauzlarich enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren; he enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and cutting grass; and

WHEREAS, Rudy Kauzlarich was preceded in death by his parents; his infant daughter; his son, Jerald; his five brothers; his six sisters; his two half brothers; and his one half sister; and

WHEREAS, Rudy Kauzlarich is survived by his wife; his son, Joe (Linda) Kauzlarich; his stepchildren, Arnold (Elzeda) Kershaw and Sharon (Rod) Earl; his 20 grandchildren; his one bonus granddaughter, Jessica; his 28 great-grandchildren; his two great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Gloria Crall; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rudolph "Rudy" Valentino Kauzlarich and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rudy Kauzlarich as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
