SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Cameron "Cam" Alexander Harris, who 
4passed away on June 28, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Cam Harris was born to Kenneth Sr. and Rose 
6Harris in Hinsdale on October 25, 1998; he attended Ridgewood 
7Baptist Academy in Joliet and Jane Addams Middle School in 
8Bolingbrook; he graduated from Bolingbrook High School in 
92017; following high school, he attended Loras College in 
10Dubuque, Iowa and the University of Illinois at Chicago;  he 
11enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2018 and was 
12currently serving active duty in the U.S. Air Force National 
13Guard 132d Wing in Des Moines, Iowa; he was preparing to resume 
14his college academics at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa 
15in the fall of 2021; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Cameron Harris was a man of strong faith who was 
17intelligent and very resourceful; he was kind and a loyal 
18friend yet firm and very independent; he loved family 
19gatherings and enjoyed spending time with family and friends; 
20he also loved watching movies and playing video games, 
21especially online gaming with  a group of friends from school;

1    WHEREAS, Cam Harris was preceded in death by his maternal 
2grandfather, Raymond Johnson; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Cam Harris is survived by his parents; his 
4brothers, Kenneth Jr. and Carson; his  maternal grandmother, 
5Patricia Johnson; his paternal grandparents, Sam and Velma 
6Harris; his aunts, Cheryl (Derrick) Gordon, Carolyn (Lester) 
7Barnes, Stephanie Harris, and Latina Harris;  his uncles, 
8Charles (Janet) Harris, Clifton Harris, and Anthony Harris; 
9his cousins; and his friends who were also part of his family; 
10therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
13Cameron "Cam" Alexander Harris and extend our sincere 
14condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
15him; and be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to the family of Cam Harris as an expression of our 
18deepest sympathy.
