| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Anthony "Tony" V. Ventimiglia of |
| 4 | | Alton, who passed away on August 7, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Tony Ventimiglia was born to Leonardo and |
| 6 | | Catherine (Pinta) Ventimiglia in Alton on November 4, 1923; he |
| 7 | | attended Catholic schools in Alton and was a member of St. |
| 8 | | Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; he married Edith "Edie" Ford |
| 9 | | at St. Patrick's Church in Alton on April 15, 1944; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Tony Ventimiglia and his father founded Midtown |
| 11 | | Restaurant in Alton in the early 1940s; he and his wife opened |
| 12 | | Tony's Restaurant in downtown Alton in 1954, where he worked |
| 13 | | until his retirement; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Tony Ventimiglia was the kindest and hardest |
| 15 | | working man his family has ever known;
he loved his family, his |
| 16 | | friends, his customers, and his restaurant with his whole |
| 17 | | heart; he was a legend in the Alton restaurant community; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Tony Ventimiglia was preceded in death by his |
| 19 | | parents; his son, Leonard Ventimiglia; and his three sisters, |
| 20 | | Mary Long, Jo-Kay Butkovich, and Anne Yeck; and
