| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Carl Ray McDonald of Granite City, who |
| 4 | | passed away on August 19, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Carl McDonald was born in Granite City to Thomas |
| 6 | | and Lela Fern (Alexander) McDonald on October 8, 1937; he |
| 7 | | served in the U.S. Army; he married Carol F. Miller, and she |
| 8 | | preceded him in death on March 29, 2021; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Carl McDonald was a chemist for United States |
| 10 | | Steel; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Carl McDonald was a past member of Calvary |
| 12 | | Baptist Church in Granite City, where he served as the choir |
| 13 | | director; he was an active member of Granite City Masonic |
| 14 | | Lodge #835 and the Scottish Rite in Belleville; he was an |
| 15 | | outdoorsman who was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the NRA, |
| 16 | | and he enjoyed tracking migratory waterfowl as well as hunting |
| 17 | | ducks and geese; he also had a talent for duck calling; he was |
| 18 | | an avid fisherman, an expert woodworker, and a member of |
| 19 | | S.O.A.R.; and

| 20 | | WHEREAS, Carl McDonald was well known as a very giving and |
| 21 | | selfless person who was willing to help anyone in need; he |
