SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Jacob Harris "Jakey" Grossman, who
4passed away on February 12, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jacob Grossman was born on December 1, 1998; he
6experienced an active Jewish education, including two trips to
7Israel; he became a bar mitzvah with joy and exuberance; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Jacob Grossman had an
9extraordinary impact on those who worked with him on his
10academic and social endeavors; his courageous and happy
11demeanor inspired many teens and adults to pursue careers in
12the field of special education; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jacob Grossman was involved in USY, Buddy
14Baseball, Chai Lifeline, Kids of Courage, HUGS, Best Buddies,
15Friendship Circle, the National Ability Center in Park City,
16Utah, and Congregation Beth Shalom Community; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jacob Grossman was proud of his faith; he enjoyed
18singing musicals, 80s music, and Jewish music; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jacob Grossman was known for his strength of
20character, his compassion, his perseverance, his love for his

1fellow human beings, and his dedication to his family and
2friends; his life served as a true inspiration to all in his
3community who have cheered for him and supported him through
4his many challenges; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jacob Grossman will be remembered by his parents,
6Rachel and Alan Grossman; his best friend and sister, Talia
7Grossman; his grandparents, Fran and Mike Grossman, Claire and
8Warren Pulner, and the late Theresa Pulner; and his aunts,
9uncles, and cousins; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jacob Grossman's legacy will live on through the
11naming of the Vernon Township pool as The Jacob Grossman
12Memorial Aquatic Center on October 17, 2021; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Jacob Harris "Jakey" Grossman and extend our sincere
16condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
17him; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Jacob Grossman as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
