SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Nicolas Morales of Joliet, who passed
4away on September 29, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nicolas Morales was born in Mexico on April 28,
61935; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Nicolas Morales farmed on the family land in
8Mexico until he relocated to Joliet; he worked for the E.J. &
9E. Railroad until he retired in 1997; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Nicolas Morales was a member of Our Lady of Mt.
11Carmel Catholic Church; he enjoyed spending time with his
12family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Nicolas Morales was preceded in death by his
14daughter, Josefina Grassity; his parents, Jose and Marina
15Morales; his brothers, Inocencio and Guadalupe; and his
16sisters, Luz, Oliva, and Maria de Jesus; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Nicolas Morales is survived by his wife, Luz
18Morales (Serrato); his son, Nick (the late Liza) Morales; his
19daughters, Luci (Bryon Booker) Serrato, Alicia (Pedro
20Aguilera) Morales, Lupe (Art) Pinon, and Veronica (Ruben)

1Aguilera; his grandchildren, Daniel (Lauren) Herrera, Mauricio
2(Amanda) Herrera, Katherine Colome, Carlos (Tatiana) Morales,
3Adrian (Jazmin) Morales, Nicolas Morales, Frankie Morales,
4Alex (Jocelin) Grassity, Cassandra Grassity, Tania Pinon,
5Enrique Pinon, Vinny Aguilera, and Samantha Aguilera; his
6seven great-grandchildren; his son-in-law, Luis Grassity; and
7his sisters, Carmen Morales, Juana Flores, and Sr. Socorro
8Morales; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Nicolas Morales and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Nicolas Morales as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
