SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lawrence A. Juracic, who passed away on November 7, 2020 at the age of 92; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was born on February 25, 1928; he was raised near Wrigley Field in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago but had the courage to become a devoted White Sox fan; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic attended St. Patrick High School and graduated from St. Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota, where he played college football; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic served in the United States Army during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic witnessed history during the 1963 NFL Championship when the Chicago Bears beat the New York Giants; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic built a successful sales career in the meatpacking industry; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was proud of his Croatian and Polish heritage; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was married to Eunice A. (Nickel) Juracic for 49 years; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was a 60 year member of St. Bernardine Church and never skipped Sunday Mass; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was preceded in death by his wife; and

WHEREAS, At the time of his death, Lawrence Juracic was survived by his children, Marianne (Steven) Carlson, Eileen Carraher, Carol (Joseph) Segobiano, and David L. Juracic; his grandchildren, Lauren, Alison, Megan, Katie, Lucas, Isabel, Ryan, and Emma; his sister, Elaine (Tom) Stockwell; and his nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lawrence A. Juracic and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lawrence Juracic as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
