SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Donna Vonachen Abdnour of Peoria, who 
4passed away on October 25, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Donna Abdnour was born to Donald and Patricia 
6(Clark) Vonachen on October 7, 1960; she graduated from 
7Academy of Our Lady/Spalding Institute in Peoria in 1978 and 
8from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa; she married Frank 
9Abdnour on October 15, 1994; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Donna Abdnour had a  career in banking and finance 
11until she married Frank and became co-owner of their business, 
12The Spotted Cow; when they sold their business, she became his 
13right hand in his political campaign and with their many 
14charitable contributions in the community; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Donna Abdnour and Frank were longtime members of 
16St. Thomas Parish, where they were married and had their 
17children baptized and attend school; she was greatly involved 
18in the church and her children's activities at the school; her 
19life revolved around her Catholic faith and her love for her 
20family; her caring and nurturing ways were felt by all in her 
21extended family and by her many friends; she had a way of 
22making each person feel special and cared for in every

1situation; she had a smile that lit every room she entered and 
2a heart full of love; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Donna Abdnour was preceded in death by her 
4parents; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Donna Abdnour is survived by her husband, Frank; 
6her children, Sydney and Noah Abdnour; her siblings, James 
7(Jeanne) Vonachen, Richard  (Consuelo) Vonachen, Diane (Bimbo) 
8Pietro, Mary Jo (Mike) Williams, Julie Vonachen, and Karen 
9(Dave) Ellbogen; and numerous nieces and nephews that all had 
10a special place in the life of "Aunt Donna"; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
13Donna Vonachen Abdnour and extend our sincere condolences to 
14her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
15further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to  the family of  Donna Abdnour as an expression of 
18our deepest sympathy.
