| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Roger L. Behm of Port Byron, who |
| 4 | | passed away on October 19, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Roger Behm was born to Walter and Leona (Fromme) |
| 6 | | Behm in Moline on August 14, 1942; he graduated from Port Byron |
| 7 | | High School in 1960; he served in the U.S. Army during the |
| 8 | | Vietnam Era from 1966 to 1968; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Roger Behm held various jobs during his life, |
| 10 | | including working at the former Port Byron State Bank for |
| 11 | | several years; he also had a long history of working at the |
| 12 | | funeral home in Port Byron, which included washing cars for |
| 13 | | Dailey Mortuary as a teenager and working as a funeral |
| 14 | | assistant and on the ambulance for Leon Gibson; he retired |
| 15 | | from his duties as a funeral assistant for the Gibson - Bode |
| 16 | | Funeral Home in 2016; he also worked for Illini Hospital, |
| 17 | | driving the hospital's Care Van, for over 15 years; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Roger Behm loved ballroom dancing with his |
| 19 | | longtime partner, Shirley Meade, and they traveled the |
| 20 | | Midwest, following their favorite bands, Jack Morgan and Lonny |
| 21 | | Lynn, and cherishing the many friendships they made along the |
| 22 | | way; he enjoyed his daily walks through Port Byron, which were |
