| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Lawrence J. "Larry" Ontiveros of |
| 4 | | Moline, who passed away on October 25, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Larry Ontiveros was born to John and Josephine |
| 6 | | Rocha Ontiveros in Moline on January 21, 1943; he graduated |
| 7 | | from Moline Senior High School in 1962; he served in the U.S. |
| 8 | | Air Force; he attended Oregon State University; he married |
| 9 | | Linda Dietz on June 10, 1967; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After 30 years of service, Larry Ontiveros |
| 11 | | retired as a special investigator from John Deer Harvester on |
| 12 | | December 1, 1994; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Larry Ontiveros was the owner of Custom Build |
| 14 | | Wood Products; he had a passion for building furniture and |
| 15 | | cabinet work; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Larry Ontiveros was affectionately known as |
| 17 | | "Uncle Larry"; he was an active member of the Salem Lutheran |
| 18 | | Church, where he served as maintenance chairman; he was also |
| 19 | | an avid golfer and was a member of the Oakwood Country Club, |
| 20 | | where he served as board secretary, the Short Hills Country |
| 21 | | Club, and the Soangetaha Country Club; and
|
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Larry Ontiveros was preceded in death by his |
| 2 | | parents; his grandparents; his brother, Steve; his sister, |
| 3 | | Rita; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cork and Betty |
| 4 | | Cervantes; his brother-in-law, Patrick Trevor; and his |
| 5 | | sister-in-law, Anita Dietz; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Larry Ontiveros is survived by his wife of 54 |
| 7 | | years, Linda; his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Gavin Jahn; |
| 8 | | his brothers, John (Laura), Bob (Blenda), Frank (Lorna), and |
| 9 | | Michael; his sisters, Christine (Jeff) Reem, Joanne (Ray) |
| 10 | | Bender, and Cindy (Dave) Newton; his sisters-in-law, Annette |
| 11 | | Dietz, Patricia Trevor, and Pamela Cervantes; and his numerous |
| 12 | | nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, |
| 13 | | be it
|
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
| 15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 16 | | Lawrence J. "Larry" Ontiveros and extend our sincere |
| 17 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
| 18 | | him; and be it further
|
| 19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 20 | | presented to the family of Larry Ontiveros as an expression of |
| 21 | | our deepest sympathy.
