| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Lionel Donald Boisvert of Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away November 9, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lionel Boisvert was born in Peace Dale, Rhode |
| 6 | | Island to Andrew and Marie (Roy) Boisvert on January 7, 1931; |
| 7 | | he joined the U.S. Army on January 7, 1948 at the age of 17; he |
| 8 | | married Ruby Hayes in Springfield, Tennessee on October 19, |
| 9 | | 1951; he served his country for 24 years, retiring with the |
| 10 | | rank of E8 First Sergeant; he served with the 187th Regimental |
| 11 | | Combat Team during the Korean War, parachuting behind enemy |
| 12 | | lines; he served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 and retired from |
| 13 | | the U.S. Army on November 1, 1970; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, After his service in the U.S. Army, Lionel |
| 15 | | Boisvert obtained an associate degree in accounting and worked |
| 16 | | for John Deere & Company; he retired in 1990 with 17 years of |
| 17 | | service; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Lionel Boisvert was of the Catholic faith; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Lionel Boisvert was preceded in death by his |
| 20 | | wife, Ruby; his parents; his son, Timmy Boisvert; his |
| 21 | | daughter, Gail Forsythe; his brothers, Paul, Leo, Alfred, and |
