SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Richard W. Baum of Rockdale, who 
4passed away on November 13, 2021; and
  
 
  
5    WHEREAS, Richard Baum retired in 1988 from the Joliet 
6Police Department after 21 years of service; he worked for 10 
7years as a private detective and finished his career as police 
8chief at the Rockdale Police Department for 13 years; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Richard Baum loved spending time with his family; 
10he was a NASCAR Fan and enjoyed the occasional trip to the 
11casino along with an ice-cold beer; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Richard Baum was preceded in death his parents, 
13Margaret and Robert Baum; his brothers, Robert and Paul; his 
14sister, Sylvia; and his daughter, Tammy Aleshire; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Richard Baum is survived by his wife of 61 years, 
16Mary Jane; his children, Geralyn (Sam) Wyke, Todd (Teri) Baum, 
17Dawn (Michael) Dumas, and Chad (Lori) Baum; his grandchildren, 
18Christine (Butch) Dykstra, Matthew (Jen) Wyke, Nicholas Wyke, 
19Kyle and Logan Baum, Maxwell Dumas, and Joshua and Casey Baum; 
20his great-grandchildren, Luke, Ethan, Emily, and Ella Dykstra 
21and Kinzley, Teagan, Brexton, and Gavin Wyke; and numerous

1cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Richard W. Baum and extend our sincere condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Richard Baum as an expression of our 
9deepest sympathy.
