SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Lawrence "Larry" Bernard McManus of 
4Taylor Ridge, who passed away on December 31, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry McManus was born to Joseph and Dorothy 
6McManus in Taylor Ridge on December 17, 1939; he served in the 
7U.S. Army during the Korean war as a radio communications 
8mechanic; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Larry McManus had an innate ability to fix 
10anything, which served his  lifelong dedication to the family 
11farm; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Larry McManus was best friends with his brother 
13Tom, and if you saw one, you usually saw the other; he  had a  
14treasured red 1965 Corvette, which  he purchased new and only 
15took out on special occasions; his readily available 
16mechanical and practical advice and assistance on any project 
17was deeply valued by many; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Larry McManus was preceded in death by his 
19parents; his brothers, Vincent, Gerald, and Stephen; and his 
20nephew, Michael; and

1    WHEREAS, Larry McManus is survived by his older brother, 
2Thomas J. (Nancy) McManus and Patrick J. McManus; his 
3sisters-in-law, Margaret McManus and Darla McManus; and his 
4multiple nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Lawrence "Larry" Bernard McManus and extend our sincere

8condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved

9him; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

11presented to the family of Larry McManus as an expression of

12our deepest sympathy.
