| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Donald R. Hartwig of Rock Island, who |
| 4 | | passed away on December 31, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donald Hartwig was born to William and Grace |
| 6 | | (Hall) Hartwig in Rock Island on January 6, 1925; he graduated |
| 7 | | from Rock Island High School; he attended St. Ambrose College |
| 8 | | in Davenport, Iowa and graduated with a degree in Mechanical |
| 9 | | Engineering from Iowa State University;
he married Beverly Ann |
| 10 | | Waters in Moline on January 20, 1951; he served overseas as a |
| 11 | | private first class in the 2nd Armored Division of the U.S. |
| 12 | | Army during World War II; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Donald Hartwig was employed as a product design |
| 14 | | engineer at John Deere Plow Planter Works in Moline for over 32 |
| 15 | | years; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Donald Hartwig was a member of the In-Fisherman |
| 17 | | Club for over 40 years and the American Society of Mechanical |
| 18 | | Engineers; he was active at St. Pius X Catholic Church, where |
| 19 | | he was a founding member; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Donald Hartwig loved playing tennis and coached |
| 21 | | boys and girls tennis at Alleman, United Township, and Rock |
