SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Deborah Grace (Hanson) Carlson, a
4longtime resident of Deerfield, who passed away on February
512, 2022; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson was born in Bellows Falls,
7Vermont on June 15, 1929; she graduated from Bellows Falls
8High School and then attended Becker Junior College in
9Worcester, Massachusetts; she married Roger Carlson in 1956;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson became a medical secretary in
12Boston, which fueled a lifelong interest in all things
13medical; she then worked as a stewardess with American
14Airlines and flew out of O'Hare Airport; later, she worked as
15an activities director at the Whitehall in Deerfield and in
16sales at I. Magnin in Northbrook; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson enjoyed singing, dancing,
18theater, travel, and tennis, occasionally reminding people
19that she once played doubles with Australian legend Roy
20Emerson; she was a dedicated visitor to Ravinia and the
21Chicago Botanic Garden; she was a lifelong Democrat; and

1    WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson was preceded in death by her
2husband, Roger, and her son, Greg; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson is survived by her children,
4Jeffrey (Marcia) Carlson, Ann (Clifford) Miller, Leslie
5Carlson Magee, and Susan Carlson; her grandchildren, Kyle and
6Dillon McAfee, Lee (Andrew) Rizzo, Clinton, Kevin, and Jay
7Magee, Michael and Katherine Carlson, and Drew and Woody
8Miller; and her great-grandchildren, Frances, Charlotte,
9Zeyda, and Louise; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Deborah Grace (Hanson) Carlson and extend our sincere
13condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
14her; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Deborah Carlson as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
