| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Deborah Grace (Hanson) Carlson, a |
| 4 | | longtime resident of Deerfield, who passed away on February |
| 5 | | 12, 2022; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson was born in Bellows Falls, |
| 7 | | Vermont on June 15, 1929; she graduated from Bellows Falls |
| 8 | | High School and then attended Becker Junior College in |
| 9 | | Worcester, Massachusetts; she married Roger Carlson in 1956; |
| 10 | | and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson became a medical secretary in |
| 12 | | Boston, which fueled a lifelong interest in all things |
| 13 | | medical; she then worked as a stewardess with American |
| 14 | | Airlines and flew out of O'Hare Airport; later, she worked as |
| 15 | | an activities director at the Whitehall in Deerfield and in |
| 16 | | sales at I. Magnin in Northbrook; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson enjoyed singing, dancing, |
| 18 | | theater, travel, and tennis, occasionally reminding people |
| 19 | | that she once played doubles with Australian legend Roy |
| 20 | | Emerson; she was a dedicated visitor to Ravinia and the |
| 21 | | Chicago Botanic Garden; she was a lifelong Democrat; and
