SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kerry J. Dixon of Hampton, who passed away on February 22, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Kerry Dixon was born in Moline on July 23, 1963; he served in the U.S. Army and married Debora K. Sellmann in Davenport, Iowa in 1988; and

WHEREAS, Kerry Dixon was employed for 25 years at Arconic in Riverside, Iowa and was a member of United Steel Workers Local 105 in Bettendorf, Iowa; and

WHEREAS, Kerry Dixon enjoyed riding his Harley, playing video games, listening to music, and watching football, especially the Chicago Bears; his favorite times were those spent with his family; he was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather; and

WHEREAS, Kerry Dixon was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lorene Wheeler; his mother, Opal E. Wheeler; and his uncles, Johnny and Jerry Wheeler; and

WHEREAS, Kerry Dixon is survived by his wife, Debora; his daughters, Elizabeth (Christopher) DeHaven and Sheena Elliott; his grandchildren, Avalene DeHaven, Kaylee York, Jaylin York, Alexa York, and Alex York; his great-granddaughter, Lorelei Kespohl; his brothers, Kelly (Cynthia) Dixon, William (Jamie) McLaughlin, and Jimmy Molina; his aunts, Linda Sheppard and Sharon (Del) Turnbough; his mother-in-law, Barbara Sellmann; his father-in-law, Gordon Sellmann; his sisters-in-law, Shari Swann, Connie Harris, and Tammy (Terry) Nissan; and many nieces, nephews, and additional family members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kerry J. Dixon and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kerry Dixon as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
