| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Ross Booker of St. Joseph, who passed |
| 4 | | away on March 6, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ross Booker was born on April 13, 2001; he |
| 6 | | graduated from Saint Joseph-Ogden High School, where he served |
| 7 | | on the officer team of the FFA and achieved the highest honor |
| 8 | | possible in the organization, earning his American FFA degree; |
| 9 | | as a senior, he decided to try out for the football team, |
| 10 | | having never played, and ended up starting most of the season |
| 11 | | as a defensive lineman; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Ross Booker spent his life helping others; he |
| 13 | | served his community as a volunteer firefighter; he rescued |
| 14 | | stranded motorists as a tow-truck operator; he was also a |
| 15 | | gifted mechanic, and he had recently completed the diesel |
| 16 | | mechanic program at Parkland College and was excited to start |
| 17 | | his internship as a diesel mechanic; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Ross Booker could often be found in his father's |
| 19 | | shop, crafting beautiful handmade wooden furniture; he was |
| 20 | | known for his '95 F150 red truck that he lovingly called |
| 21 | | "Oldfurd"; and
