SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ke'Mareon Laron Rice of Decatur, who passed away on March 5, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Ke'Mareon Rice was born to Eric (Channing) Jones and Stephanie (Richard) Hines in Decatur on February 13, 2005; he attended school in Decatur and was a current student at MacArthur High School; and

WHEREAS, Ke'Mareon Rice was an avid sports fan who loved playing basketball; he enjoyed movies and going to shows; he was so full of life and enjoyed making everyone around him smile, and he will be remembered for his outgoing, energetic spirit; and

WHEREAS, Ke'Mareon Rice was preceded in death by his grandparents, James W. Jones Sr., Johanna Hill, Edwin Deberry, Mary Abreu, Effie Gully, and Effie Oliver; his aunt, Hannah Rice; his cousins, Tommy King and Amarrius Rice; and his uncle, Thomas Jones; and

WHEREAS, Ke'Mareon Rice is survived by his parents; his grandparents, Barbara Rice and Bobby Rice Jr.; his brothers, Ke'ron Jones, Narion Robinson, Richard Hines III, Dartavion Jones, Jaha Hines, Kyron Jones, and Keithon Maclin; his sisters, Camiya Bean, Persayus Hines, Harmony Hines, Lysteria Robinson, Deanisha Taylor, Kimesha Owens, and Diamond Maclin; his uncles and aunts, Bobby Rice III, Cristy Redmon, Natasha Rice, Danielle Rice, Bri Rice, Matthew Rice, Trayve Gaines, Hannah Rice, Jericho Rice, Alexis Rice, Veronda Jones, Brian Jones, and Thomas Jones; and his special friends, Kaycee Pugsley and LaKeithae Robinson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ke'Mareon Laron Rice and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ke'Mareon Rice as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
