| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Margaret M. Birmingham, who died |
| 4 | | peacefully in her Melrose Park home on December 12, 2021 at the |
| 5 | | age of 82; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham was raised in Crystal Lake by |
| 7 | | her parents George Flynn and Marge Flynn; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham attended Sienna High School, |
| 9 | | where several classmates became her lifelong friends; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham had a deep love for travel |
| 11 | | and saw many places, but one of her favorite spots in all the |
| 12 | | world was sitting on the pier in front of her parents' home in |
| 13 | | Crystal Lake; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham married her husband Bill |
| 15 | | Birmingham in September of 1963; they would be married for 25 |
| 16 | | years until his passing; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham was an avid golfer and hiker |
| 18 | | and loved all things related to sports; she was a lifelong |
| 19 | | Chicago Cubs fan, cheered the Chicago Bears, and tuned into |
| 20 | | every Notre Dame football game; she was an avid reader, |

| 1 | | theater attendee, and movie goer; and
|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham was preceded in death by her |
| 3 | | parents, George Flynn and Marge Flynn; her husband, Bill |
| 4 | | Birmingham; and her siblings, George Flynn and Barbara Flynn; |
| 5 | | and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham is survived by her children, |
| 7 | | Bill (Jane) Birmingham, Kathy (Chuck) Meyer, and Megan (Rich) |
| 8 | | Sebanc; her grandchildren, Nick, Bridget, Matthew, David, |
| 9 | | Mark, Jack, Clare, Brenna, Chloe, and Erin; her |
| 10 | | great-granddaughter, Ava; her sisters, Kathy (Bill) Norris and |
| 11 | | Maureen Holman; her nieces and nephews; and her great-nieces |
| 12 | | and nephews; therefore, be it

| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
| 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 15 | | Margaret M. Birmingham and extend our sincere condolences to |
| 16 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
| 17 | | further

| 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 19 | | presented to the family of Margaret Birmingham as an |
| 20 | | expression of our deepest sympathy.
