SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 


  
2    WHEREAS, The Evidence-Based Funding Formula was created to 
3ensure that Illinois has a kindergarten through grade 12 
4public education system with the capacity to ensure the 
5educational development of all persons; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, To accomplish this objective, the Evidence-Based 
7Funding Formula was designed to create a method of funding 
8public education that is evidence-based, is sufficient to 
9ensure every student receives a meaningful opportunity to 
10learn irrespective of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, 
11gender, or community-income level, and is sustainable and 
12predictable; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Organizational Units are required to submit the 
14necessary data for the formula to the Illinois State Board of 
15Education, which is responsible for the validation of all the 
16data sets and the calculations of disbursements to the 
17districts based upon the criteria set forth in the Formula and 
18the data provided; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the Auditor General is 
21directed to conduct a management audit of the Illinois State 
22Board of Education oversight of the Evidence-Based Funding

1Formula and distributions therein; and be it further
  
 
2    RESOLVED, That the Illinois State Board of Education and 
3any other entity having information relevant to this audit 
4cooperate fully and promptly with the Auditor General's Office 
5in the conduct of this audit; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That the Auditor General commence this audit as 
7soon as possible and report its findings and recommendations 
8upon completion in accordance with the provisions of Section 
93-14 of the Illinois State Auditing Act; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11delivered to the Auditor General.
